For many Christians, the six weeks of Lent are a period of preparation, discipline, and penance leading up to Good Friday and Easter: the commemoration of Jesus’ death and resurrection.

We begin our journey toward Easter on Ash Wednesday, with the sign of the cross on our foreheads. We resolve to “travel light,” setting aside some of the pleasures or distractions that can impede our “pilgrim’s progress” on this journey (fasting). And we focus our thoughts, hearts, and purposes on the deliverance and feasting that we anticipate as a result of Jesus’ resurrection.

During Lent 2021, you are invited (via Zoom) to join fellow members of the St. Andrew’s congregation at 7 p.m. on each of five Wednesdays (February 24 and March 3, 10, 17, and 24) to meditate on ways that we can both fast and feast in expectation of the victory of Easter.
